Rain, Wind and Flooding: Weather Warning Alert As Heavy Rainfall Forecast For Tonight

Met Éireann are warning people, particularly in Leinster, to gear up for a wet and windy weekend as they have issued a yellow alert flood warning for tonight.

Risk of high tides and flooding have prompted the Status Yellow warning and following the news, Dublin City Council announced on their website that they will deploy more staff this evening as a result of the “rainfall warning for the Dublin Area from Met Éireann, and because of a very high tide due at 11pm tonight (Thursday).”

Heavy rain has been forecast for Leinster and the south of the country between 6pm this evening and 2am tomorrow morning. A status yellow marine gale warning is also in effect.

An amber alert is in place for Northern Ireland ahead of the weekend, as the Met Office has also issued a flood warning. The alert is in place until 8am on Friday morning.
