Another attack in the US, this time in Ohio, has been linked to the internet sensation known as Slender Man.
A mother has spoken out about how she was stabbed by her 13-year-old daughter who she claims had “mental issues” and had written about the fictional horror figure.
She told local station WLWT: “I came home one night from work and she was in the kitchen waiting for me and she was wearing a white mask… She was someone else during the attack”.
The woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, explained: “We found things that she had written and she made reference to Slender Man. She also made some references to killing”.
According to the news report, her daughter is currently being held in Hamilton County’s juvenile detention centre and is facing charges.
The teenager apparently told the authorities that she doesn’t remember what happened on the night of the attack which left her mother with multiple minor injuries.
By speaking out, she is hoping that it will warn other parents. She said: “We do have to police what they do and what they read”.
The news comes a week after two teenage girls, allegedly inspired by Slender Man, were charged with the attempted murder of a 12-year-old girl.
