A man in his 20s was rushed to hospital tonight after being shot in Dublin.

The 26-year-old was struck in the back during the shooting shortly after 8.30pm on Lally Road in Ballyfermot and rushed to St James Hospital where his condition is thought to be stable.

This is the second shooting in the Ballyfermot area in the last month, with 53-year-old Martin Clarke and his 28-year-old son Lee wounded outside their home on Clifden Drive in early March.
