Two people have been arrested after the body of a newborn baby girl, believed to be less than one week old, was found on a cycle path in Hull.
According to reports, police went to the scene on Saturday evening after being contacted by a member of the public who had discovered the body while out for a walk.
Officers closed off the area, which is located in the east of the city, in order to carry out their initial inquiries.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police confirmed that a man and woman have been arrested in connection with the investigation and are currently in custody.
