If you’ve been mourning the end of the Harry Potter series, here’s some news that will (hopefully) cheer you up: the cover for J.K Rowling’s first adult-aimed novel has been released!
The Huffington Post reports that Hachette, the publishing house, revealed J.K Rowling’s new book cover today, along with the page count for the novel.
The book, which is entitled The Casual Vacancy will be 512 pages long and aimed specifically at a more grown-up audience.
The book focusses on the small town of Pagford and the various disputes that take place when a seat on the parish council is up for grabs.
For the past seven months, J.K has been slowly but surely making announcements about the book, mainly to create a sense of anticipation amongst her readers. Last February, she confirmed that she was writing a new book for adults. Then, last April she announced the title, the release date and the plot of the book.
While The Casual Vacancy can’t take away the pain of knowing that there will not be another Harry Potter book, it might fill the Harry-shaped hole in your life ever-so-slightly.
