Matt and Abby Howard have issued a statement addressing the shocking claims
TikTok influencers, Matt and Abby Howard have been forced to address claims they left their children alone on the cruise.
The influencers reportedly went for dinner when their two sons were asleep alone in their cabin.
They were quickly hit with waves of backlash after Abby confirmed they were watching their children over FaceTime.
Their two-year-old son Griffin and one-year-old son August were asleep when the parents enjoyed dinner together.
The couple were deeply upset by the claims but stressed that a family member was watching their children at the time.
Matt stressed that all of the claims are “completely untrue”.
“We had someone with our children at all times on this boat. Period,” he said.
“I can see where my story did lead to misunderstanding which is why I ended up deleting it several hours after posting it because I could see that it was causing concern and misunderstanding,” Abby added.
The mum-of-two said they would never ever leave their children alone.
She added: “[I] want to clarify that we have not, would not, will not ever leave our children unattended. We would would never, ever want to put them in harms way in anyway.”
Their fans thanked them for being so honest about the difficult situation, but others said their response was suspicious.
“Wait why would you guys need to facetime the monitors then if someone else was there in the room(s) I just don’t get that, especially if they’re family,” one said.
Another added: “You can see the sadness and guilt in Abby’s eyes.”
“It’s weird that they didn’t say who was watching the babies?” another wrote.
A fourth commented, “It makes me sad that as parents we have to explain ourselves. Or you’ll be scrutinised. As if it’s anyone’s business. You guys are wonderful.”
