Weather warnings have been issued for the entirety of Ireland over Easter weekend as the newly named Storm Dave is set to hit the Emerald Isle.
A Status Yellow wind warning for all 26 counties in the Republic of Ireland is scheduled to take effect from 3pm to midnight on Saturday (4 April).
It reads: "Storm Dave will bring very strong southerly winds, veering westerly by the evening with severe gusts and coastal gales.
"Possible impacts: Some fallen trees, branches; wave overtopping; difficult travelling conditions; [and] debris, loose objects displaced."
The UK Met Office has also issued a Yellow wind warning for all six counties in Northern Ireland, which is scheduled to take effect from 2pm on Saturday (4 April) until 2am on Easter Sunday (5 April).
The alert states: "Storm Dave brings a spell of very strong winds Saturday into Easter Sunday morning, which may cause some damage and travel disruption."
The warnings come one day after Met Éireann issued an advisory for all of the Republic of Ireland over Easter weekend, amidst fears of "stormy" and "damaging" weather.
The advisory is scheduled to take effect at 12am on Good Friday (3 April) and last until 12am on Tuesday (7 April).
"Unsettled and mixed over Easter with a mobile Atlantic flow affecting Ireland," it reads.
"Windy or possibly stormy in places later Saturday.
"Potential for some severe or damaging west to southwest gusts."
On top of this, Met Éireann said that coastal flooding is "likely", especially around high tide times and in exposed, low-lying locations along the Atlantic coastal counties.
"High astronomical tides (Spring Tides) coinciding with storm surge and persistent onshore winds will further increase the risk of coastal flooding," the advisory continues.
"Areas along the west and north coasts are particularly vulnerable.
"Strong onshore winds combined with high waves may lead to wave overtopping and flooding in low-lying and exposed coastal areas."
As it stands, the Irish meteorological service's forecast for Easter Sunday reads: "A bright and breezy day on Sunday with sunny spells and scattered showers.
"There is a chance of some showers of hail or sleet early on, mainly on higher ground.
"Cool with highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees. Moderate to fresh westerly winds will ease during the evening."
