Lucas Bravo felt disconnected from his Emily in Paris character
As much as we love Emily in Paris, there were some pretty awful storylines this season.
One storyline that broke our hearts a little was the downfall of Emily and Gabriel’s relationship.
We all fell in love with the French chef when the first season aired in 2020, but the writers failed him this season.
Gabriel was completely out of character once he found out about the pregnancy, but the way he nearly turned his back on Emily was so wrong.
And we’re not the only ones who thought that way.
In an interview with DCFilmGirl, actor Lucas Bravo said he was frustrated with some of the creative decisions this season.
He said, “When I’m in character, I want him to be the best version of himself, but yeah, the choices he made this season, made me grow apart from him.”
“It’s hard for me to understand a few of the things he does,” the actor confessed.
“I was a bit frustrated about the ski slope obviously because after four seasons of running after each other breaking up over five minutes of skiing felt a bit weird,” Bravo added.
Viewers noticed a major difference in Gabriel this season
Fans were pleased to see the actor being so honest about how different Gabriel was this season.

One wrote, “Obsessed with the fact that he said this!!! So true, he was so weird this season. One of the only characters that didn’t get their story wrapped up with some cute progression.”
Another wrote, “I sympathize with that- he probably wanted to rescue the woman he loves but the script said otherwise.”
“I wonder why the writers did Gabriel so dirty. He really did turn into a jerk this season out of the blue,” another shared.
Earlier this week, Netflix confirmed Emily in Paris would return for a fifth season.
