Gypsy Rose Blanchard calls on fans for help with early prison release

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is calling on the public to help her get released from prison early.

Gypsy Rose was found guilty of killing her mother Dee Dee Blanchard in 2018 but could be released this year.

Dee Dee physically and psychologically abused her daughter for years. It is believed Dee Dee had Munchausen by proxy syndrome.

Before her death, Dee Dee claimed her daughter had multiple medical issues including leukemia, muscular dystrophy, as well as asthma.

Her mother was found dead at their home in 2015. Following the discovery of her mother’s body, police arrested Gypsy Rose and her boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn.

Gypsy Rose was sentenced to 10 years in prison, but she will be eligible for parole this year.

She is now calling on her fans and supporters to help with her early release. She has sent letters to her supporters in a bid to get released from prison early.

It reads:

“Hello Friends and Supporters. I appreciate the continued encouragement throughout my prison sentence.”

“Many of y’all signed the Free Gypsy Blanchard petition created by my father, Rod Blanchard. Now, I must ask a favour.

“I am respectfully asking all who wish me an early release to please aid my father in his efforts for my freedom and write a letter expressing support for my early release to either the Missouri State Governor, Michael L. Parson, AND/OR the Division of the Missouri State Board of Probation and Parole.”

Earlier this year, Gypsy’s loved ones expressed their concerns ahead of her prison release.

Her friends Fancy Marcelli and Titania Gisclair told In Touch:

“Gypsy has served 80 percent of her sentence. She’s supposed to get out in 2025, but I worry about what’s going to happen to her. She doesn’t want counseling, which the prison offers.

“She doesn’t feel that she needs any help,” her friends revealed.

They also said Gypsy Rose will “need better people around her” following her release.

Gypsy Rose pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was then sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Her former boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn was also found guilty following her mother’s murder. He was charged with first-degree murder. He is serving life in prison but is not eligible for parole.
