The incident occurred three years ago.
A 17 year old boy has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Urantsetseg Tserendorj.
Tserendorj was killed as she walked home from work in Dublin’s north inner city in 2020.
The boy’s sentence will be reviewed in 13 years, RTÉ reports.
Tserendorj was returning home from her cleaning job on 20 January 2020 when she was stabbed by the then 14 year old.
She sadly died from her injuries in hospital nine days later.
The sentencing was delayed after a judge appealed to the Oireachtas to correct a “yawning gap” in the legislation which covers children convicted of serious crimes.
The sentence is set to be reviewed when the teenager is 28 years of age.
