You have to solve this equation to use the WiFi in this restaurant

Can you solve it?

No internet for us then!

Almost all food businesses now have WiFi available for customers to use.

While some people may see it as an excuse to be anti-social, others won’t even dine in a place that doesn’t have free internet.

One Texas restaurant has a very specific rule for people using their Wifi: solve the maths equation.

A Reddit user shared the image to the site asking people to help him solve it.

”This is the Wifi password at a local Thai restaurant. I’m determined to join their network. Where are the math wizards at?” The Reddit user said.

However many other people commenting on the thread seem to think it doesn’t make sense and that it may be a trick question.

”This looks a lot like a summation of a binomial probability density function. I strongly doubt the divider between N/m should even be there.

”It would then be equivalent to having a number of successes of at least half of the attempts made, statistically, with a success probability of 25%. The answer depends on the number of attempts though.” One person said.

Try password ‘binomial’ or ‘Binomial’ or something like that.” He advised.

However, this password, an others suggested, didn’t work.

It may be reserved for super-intelligent mathematicians, or there is a chance that they don’t even have Wifi and it’s just a bit of fun.

Either way, just looking at it brings us right back to the Leaving Cert and it’s not a nice feeling.
