These are a few of our favourite things… for this week at least.

Snack Happy
We’ve been eating well in the office this week thanks to a fab delivery of Gluten Free food from our pals at Lidl. Gluten Free Week at Lidl is back from August 11th, so you have fair warning to stock up!

Last Love Song
Travis Oaks is an Irish blues-rock quartet that you will not be forgetting in a hurry. The group, which is fairly newly established, released their debut music video for track ‘Last Love Song’ and it is so amazing Grace has had it on repeat all week.
The four-piece’s music is steeped in the sound of dirty old blues rock, with many modern influences such as Arctic Monkeys, QOTSA, The Black Keys, however this track has us reminiscing about our much-loved (and missed) early White Stripes days.
Watch the video in all its spectacularly vivid craziness below.

Rock n Roll Runners
Michelle was thrilled to be asked to MC the start line for this year’s Rock ‘n Roll Dublin Half Marathon. Over 7,500 runners from 46 countries took part in the epic chase, which took visitors and home birds on a tour of Dublin like no other – all the way from North Wall Quay to a finish line festival in the Phoenix Park. With live bands at every mile, the capital was absolutely rocking in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday, and we had a blast being a small part of it.
Queen of the Castle
Cathy was at Castlepalooza last weekend and despite the rain, she had a ball! The Royal Tea Party was a particular highlight and this epic video shows some of the entries to the first dress up at an Irish festival. She can’t wait for next year.
Sporting Style
Rebecca splashed out on some new sports gear this week. As well as a new (very purple) outfit for the gym, she picked up a Maria Sharapova tennis top which she can’t wait to show off on the courts over the weekend (that is, if the weather allows her to). Either way, she has no excuse not to get into shape now!
Medal of Honour
This week, the world honoured the men who fought during the First World War. Sue‘s great-grandather, Patrick Mackey, fought in the War and received honorary medals. With the week that’s in it, the medals are back out in display in the Murphy residence.
Slimming Success
This week Liz is on the countdown to her big dress reveal. After some hard slogging and eating (mostly) the right foods, she’s hoping to wriggle into The Dress hanging at the end of her bed. So she was really touched when Weight Watchers gave her the final push she needed and sent her in a box of goodies to for a lighter step on the scales.
She’s also aware that eating all the cake bars at once might cancel out the whole low points concept, but at least she can walk it off with the pedometer? Now there’s a plan…
Perfect Picnic
Marie paid a visit to L’Ecrivain this week for the launch of a really cool new addition to Electric Picnic – the Fine Dining Picnic. While the majority of your festival experience may be a less than glamourous, this five-star banquet will bring a bit of class to proceedings! The food will be cooked by a selection of top chefs and there’s even changing rooms with attire provided so you can get your gladrags on for the occasion.
Seats (including a half bottle of wine) are priced at €120, with all proceeds going directly to Console, a charity which works towards suicide prevention and support for those bereaved by suicide in Ireland. Tickets are on sale now from 01-4979337 or by emailing [email protected].
Picture Perfect
Cathy recently moved house and her sister Cliodhna gave her an epic housewarming gift in the form of a framed family photo collage. As Cathy didn’t have any recent family photos, this made her smile and let’s just says she has serious ground to cover for Cli’s birthday later this year!
Galway Girl (Style)
Who else loved the skirt of the winner of this year’s ladies day at the Galway races? Liz loved it so much that the minute she clapped eyes on it, she rushed onto Coast online to buy it. Stalking the postman paid off when she got to unwrap this little number during the week. She’s so in love she may have plans to try it on and twirl every night for the next week or two…
