If you thought the strangest thing that happened at Electric Picnic this weekend was the uncharacteristically dry weather, perhaps you haven’t seen the snaps of the artist formerly known as Kanye West cuddling Steve Lacy backstage.
Fresh off a controversial summer in Italy, Kanye was spotted, albeit with his identity mostly protected by a black hood, locked in an embrace with Lacy after the latter’s set at the festival on Friday night.
Amidst the discarded power banks and fanny packs, Kanye and Steve, who got matching tattoos together last year, went largely unnoticed by the sea of festival goers, but the snap of the pair is doing the rounds on Irish Twitter and beyond today.

Pictures have also been shared of Kanye apparently in Dublin Airport (surely in a boujie, private jet pre-stop section not open to the rest of us plebs, because we certainly don’t recognise it), looking like most EP-goers probably did on the Monday after the festival – disheveled but content, smiling about something that will likely remain a mystery to the majority of us.
We eagerly await the influx of stories from people claiming they bumped into Ye at the rave in the woods or saw him perform an acapella mash-up of Gold Digger and Dirty Old Town outside a tent at 4 a.m.
