These are a few of our favourite things… for this week at least.

Michelle had Monday off this week as she was busy having the absolute time of her life. You would struggle to find a bigger elephant fan on the planet, so Michelle’s day/week/month/year and life was made when she got to visit, greet and feed the gorgeous Duchess. Best. Day. Ever.
We’re Jammin’…
Liz got to spend some time with pastry chef Louise Lennox this week, and discovered she’s a dab hand at making jam. From peach melba, to a red pepper and chilli spread, no fruit will be safe from her newest hobby. And she got to decorate them too – it’s like arts and crafts for grown-ups. LOVE IT.
Share a Coke
This week, Sue got a surprise when Odeon Film sent her in her very own bottle of Coke. Unfortunately, Sue’s name is not on the list of Coke cans for Ireland and she hasn’t been able to get a hold of one here so she savoured the moment.
Making Scents
Cathy loves perfume (and can never limit it to just one favourite). She was delighted to receive a gift of new perfume Katy Perry Royal Revolution this week. The personalised notebook was also very much appreciated, now she has no excuse but to be organised!
Between the Covers
Our resident bookworm Rebecca has been flying through Simon Kernick’s latest thriller Stay Alive. After recently finishing The Fault In Our Stars, she felt she needed something she could get stuck into and that wasn’t going to leave her blubbering into the pages at the end. So far, so good.
Hip to be Square
Six months ago, Marie moved to Stoneybatter and fell truly, madly, deeply in love with the area. Since then, she has spent her weekends exploring the nearby environs for cute cafés and restaurants and this week stumbled upon the joy that is Cinnamon Café and Deli in Smithfield. Great coffee, great atmosphere and a Rice Krispie square that will change your life. Check it out!
We Look Good On The Dance Floor
This week Grace, Marie and Liz all headed off to Marlay Park for the Arctic Monkeys. The gig featured on Grace‘s Top 5 summer events not to be missed and to say that the girls were looking forward to the day would fall into the category of ‘biggest understatement ever’. They kicked off the day with brunch in Whitefriar Grill, because they’re sensible ladies that know lining the stomach is a priority, plus the Bloody Marys are too good to pass. In a bid not to miss one minute of musical action, the girls arrived in plenty of time to catch all three supporting acts. Royal Blood were first up and the perfect duo to get things kick started, blowing the metaphorical roof from the invisible walls of Marlay Park. Miles Kane made an appearance gracing the stage with an amazing shirt that fashion-lover Cathy would definitely approve of, before Jake Bugg gave Two Fingers up to yesterday. By the time Alex Turner and crew graced the stage the girls were well on their merry way and when the band opened with the Her.ie team’s favourite song, it’s safe to say that is the closest point all three came to absolute meltdown… The greatest day of 2014 for all three.
Grab A Tissue
Liz stopped off for a cinema date with her roommate Carol to catch the latest must-see The Fault In Our Stars. As well as falling in love with the most adorable couple, she may have laugh, cried and then buried her face in Ben & Jerrys. Any excuse really.
Disney Day
One of Sue‘s favourite days of the year, Disney Day, happened this week. Although she has been sworn to secrecy about the events that occurred, she did bring home THIS guy. They’re just friends.
Fashion For Breakfast
Michelle and Cathy headed for Brown Thomas on Tuesday morning, attending the launch of the iconic department store’s Autumn/Winter collection. Suffice to say their wish lists are now twice as long, but there is a special place in the Her.ie heart for Jenny Packham dresses. Love!
