“You’ve made us who we are.”
It was tears all round in Today FM earlier this morning as station stalwart Jenny Kelly said her goodbyes after 14 years on the national airwaves.
Jenny, who has been part of the hugely successful Ray D’Arcy Show on the station alongside her husband, announced a number of weeks ago that she would be leaving the show to focus on raising the couple’s children.
At the time, she said she had been “thinking long and hard about it” after coming back to work in January following maternity leave. She told fans of the show that she had decided after 14 years in her position that she wanted to spend more time with her children.
“They’re only young for a very short while, that’s what I kept saying”, she said, becoming emotional.
Earlier today, her colleagues bid her a fond farewell.
