Just when we didn’t think we could be shocked any more, we stumbled across this online.
And we felt pretty sickened by it.
The Daily Mail have decided that apparently fleeing a war-torn country and fighting discrimination isn’t enough of a struggle for some people, so released a cartoon depicting refugees crossing into Europe as both rats and terrorists.

The piece comes just months after Cilla Black’s death was chronicled by the paper with a queue of people lining up to get into heaven ahead of the TV presenter with the caption: ‘Sorry about the long queue, Cilla. There are thousands of illegals trying to get in…’

Spotted by i100, this morning’s piece was reminiscent of an Austrian Nazi propaganda depicting Jews fleeing Germany and being turned away by the rest of “democratic” Europe:
One is a Nazi cartoon laughing at Jews denied entry to democratic countries. The other is the Daily Mail today. pic.twitter.com/wYHwmfc0l1

Speaking about the images, Kate Allen, director of Amnesty International UK, said:
“The Daily Mail’s cartoon is precisely the sort of reckless xenophobia that fuels the self-same fear and hate loved by those responsible for atrocities in Paris, Beirut, Ankara and elsewhere.
Now more than ever is the time to stand together in defiance of the perpetrators of violence with all of their victims and reject this disturbing lack of compassion.”
