Perfect for impressing the other half!

Una Kavanagh

There’s something quite romantic about taking the time out to make something special for a loved one – especially when chocolate is the main ingredient.

This recipe for Chocolate Love Pots by Alix Gardner is not only simple but the results are delicious! Give it a go, we definitely reckon your partner will be impressed!

Chocolate Love Pots

serves 6 (or an indulgent 2!)

  • 175g / 6 oz  plain chocolate broken in pieces
  • 250ml / 1/2 pint  cream
  • 1 egg
  • pinch salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence

Method:

  1. Heat the cream in a jug in a 700w microwave for 1 minute on max.
  2. Break the chocolate into it into as small pieces as possible and leave for 3 minutes to melt.
  3. Give it a stir and if necessary put back into the microwave to melt for another minute to melt all the chocolate.
  4. Pour into a liquidiser, add the egg, salt and vanilla essence and blend quickly. Alternatively put the mixture in a bowl with the egg and whisk with a hand whisk
  5. Pour the mixture (it’ll be quite liquid still) into six small (or two large) pots, or glasses.
  6. Chill for several hours or overnight until it is quite firm. Serve with a smile and enjoy!
