We all have a special woman in our lives: it might be your mother, sister, aunt, cousin or a friend.
Chances are you don’t see them every day but they are always at the end of the phone when you need them, and this person always seems to know the right thing to say, no matter what the situation.
We want to make them feel special for once and that’s why every week we are choosing a woman of the week in association with Littlewoods Ireland.
This week, our real woman is Melanie Carey.
Melanie was nominated by her daughter Amy who tells us below why Melanie deserves to win.
“The woman I am choosing to nominate for woman of the week is my amazing mother, Melanie.
“My mum is the most amazing role model I could ever ask for. She is selfless, determined and the nicest woman there is.
“She devotes herself to working in a dementia unit and although she receives very little or no thanks most of the time, she still carries on making everyone’s day that little bit brighter.
“Mum always puts my sister and me before herself so it would be amazing to be able to give her a little something back for herself.
“I have included a picture of my mam sitting on the rocks after a hike we did on holidays this year, she was so in her element and looks absolutely beautiful”.
