Durex has compiled a list of the ages people lose their virginity and broken it down by the average in each country. There are 44 countries included on the list for the Face of Global Sex report, which has been published by The Daily Star.
Among them were Ireland, the UK, Poland, China, Iceland, France, Portugal, Malaysia and Mexico. The study ranked the countries in order of age starting with the oldest.
The country to top the list was Malaysia, where people lose their virginity on average at 23 years of age. Next on the list were India (22.9), Singapore (22.8) and China (22.1).
Ireland came midway down the list with the average age of 17.3. Other countries where people lost their virginity at 17 were Australia, Turkey, New Zealand, Slovakia, Germany, Croatia, Austria, Czech Republic, Chile and Belgium.
The youngest country to lose their virginity was Iceland which has an average age of 15.6.
