What a disaster.
If you stayed in to watch Fyre Festival: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, then you’re not alone.
We all watched in absolute dismay at the lengths that Billy McFarland would go to save the shitty festival that he was planning.
It was like a disaster movie, but it happened in real life and let’s be honest, it put a really bad name on the influencer culture.
One of the saddest and most shocking parts of the documentary was when we found out that the caterers Elvis and Maryann Rolle, were not paid for all the work they put in.
They have set up a GoFundMe page and have asked the public for help after their “credit was ruined by Fyre Fest.”
They wrote on the page:
“Back in April 2017 I pushed myself to the limit catering no less than a 1000 meals per day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all prepared and delivered by Exuma Point to Coco Plum Beach and Roker’s Point where the main events were scheduled to take place.
“As I make this plea it’s hard to believe and embarrassing to admit that I was not paid…I was left in a big hole! My life was changed forever, and my credit was ruined by Fyre Fest.
“My only resource today is to appeal for help.”
Over the last seven days, nearly 4,000 people have donated and the current tally is $129,420.
