Festivities have kicked off around the world to celebrate the most important date in the Chinese calender; the Lunar New Year celebrations. And if ewe hadn’t already guessed, 2015 is the Year of the Sheep.

Dublin is gearing up to ring in the Chinese New Year in style with celebrations taking place across the city over the next couple of days. So if you’re out and about in the capital you can expect to see the streets rammed (ahem) with people enjoying all sorts of traditional Chinese performances including dragon and lion dances, Tai Chi and martial arts displays.

And if you’re on the hunt for some particularly tasty Chinese nosh, make sure you head along to Castle Street Market (just behind George’s Street Arcade) this Thursday (19th Feb) where you’ll find a traditional banquet hosted by the lovely folks at Amoy.

Running from 6pm until 8pm, the banquet will be packed full of delicious Chinese delicacies. See you there – sure it’ll be bleatin’ great! (Sorry, we couldn’t resist).

If you can’t make it to Amoy’s Banquet on Thursday night, why not cook up your own Chinese New Year feast at home. Head on over to the Amoy website for recipe ideas and a full list of products.
