Condom-shaped ice-pops are the latest food craze in China, with the dessert wrapped in a rubber sheath requiring the diner to bite through the tip.
The ‘Bubble Cream’ dessert has become popular amongst children in the Shenyang area, but has caused outrage amongst parents who are seeing pictures of children eating the pops bombarding microblogging sites.
According to Metro UK, one parent Jiang spoke about his embarrassment at the ice-cream treat saying:
“I was stunned that it looked just like a condom. I would feel embarrassed to eat it as an adult, let along giving it to a child. How can they sell products like that to children?”
The producer of the ice pop, a licensed factory in Jilin Province, has no plans on redesigning the current shape of their product.
