Sometimes, taking on an internship can be a great way to gain valuable experience and make some priceless contacts. Many Irish companies use the Government’s JobBridge internship scheme to recruit new faces but we didn’t really expect to see this next advertisement…

An Garda Síochána has advertised for a position through the controversial JobBridge scheme looking for a Human Rights Assistant.

The internship will last 9 months and the successful applicant will be expected to work 40-hours per week with an additional €50 on top of their weekly Social Welfare payment.

Skill requirements include, having ‘the ability to work as part of a team in delivering a consistent quality of work to deadlines’, as well as ‘high level of personal responsibility and integrity and the ability to observe confidentiality in respect of the work conducted’.

The position is based in Dublin and no previous experience is necessary.
