Maintaining a hot post-baby bod, we’re only dying to find out what Irish Saturdays girl Una Healy includes in her daily diet.
And we are delighted to find out it is a wholesome daily diet with fruit and vegetables to boot!
Here, The Saturdays girl describes a typical day with the band and reveals what she eats to keep her energy levels up.
6.30am It’s another early start with my three-month-old baby. Have a glass of orange juice before getting ready for a magazine photo-shoot with my group, The Saturdays.
7am Get picked up. Wake up properly with a cup of tea with a dash of soya milk at the studio, and some granola with soya yogurt, then into hair and make-up.
11am Mid-morning fruit. I prefer snacking on fruit and vegetables to sweets. A packet of crisps is as naughty as it gets.
1pm We get to order in food while we’re on set. I love chicken noodle soup or, if it’s really hot weather, just a cold ham salad.
4pm With six or seven outfit changes to get through we won’t finish until 6pm, so I snack on cashew nuts for energy.
7pm My husband, Ben, does most of the cooking so I nibble on olives while he cooks wholewheat pasta with grilled salmon and broccoli splashed with soy sauce. I love my greens. Afterwards, just a cup of tea.
Una shows off her fit body in a fun, colourful playsuit.
The Irish Independent’s dietician Nigel Denby describes Una as a “virtuous eater”;
“If Una were trying out for the most virtuous eater of the year, she’d surely be in the top three. She must be one of those very lucky people who doesn’t get a rush of anticipation at the site of cakes, doughnuts or chocolate. Her diet is near perfect and ticks pretty much all the healthy-eating boxes.”
We think Una is a excellent role-model, proving that eating wholesome can result in a healthy, fabulous-looking body.
