Marvel Comics Are Going Pink for Cancer: How Marvel-lous!

Marvel comic book covers and characters are getting behind breast awareness by going pink for the month of October. Find out what superheroes are going to be involved...

Comic book publisher Marvel Entertainment is getting on board to spread awareness about breast cancer this October.

Throughout breast awareness month, a number of comic book covers and characters will be undergoing the pink treatment.

Almost all of the characters seen in box-office hit The Avengers including Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, and Captain America as well as Wolverine will be going pink in order to raise awareness about breast cancer.

Not only will the covers be pink but some of the superheroes’ costumes will also be pink. In each comic there will be a special advertorial with information on breast cancer. Marvel.com will also be sporting a, you guessed it, pink look.

As fun as all of this is, the reason behind it is very serious. Breast cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer and affects women of all ages.

For that reason it is vital that you are aware of your role in the early detection and prevention of breast cancer. You ought to check your breasts for any abnormalities or changes on a regular basis and seek information if you are concerned about anything.

The Marie Keating Foundation based in Dublin is one such organisation that you can contact for advice and support. It is an incredible foundation that helps individuals and families affected by breast cancer.

If you aren’t sure, find out what you need to do to check for signs of breast cancer today. While you’re at it, why not get behind the worthwhile cause this October.
