Tom Hiddleston finally speaks about his relationship with Taylor Swift

And clarifies a few things.

Laura Holland

Tom Hiddleston is having a good run of it lately.

Between his new romance with Taylor Swift, and only yesterday receiving an Emmy nomination for his role in The Night Manager, he’s having a good few weeks.

All the while he hasn’t been giving too much away to the media about his new relationship and even managed to make one interview very awkward by refusing to speak about Taylor.

While Calvin and Taylor are having their own post break-up issues, which have been made very public due to Calvin’s almighty Twitter rant, the focus has slightly deflected from Tom who’s currently over in Australia filming the sequel to Thor where he plays bad guy Loki.

Somehow, though, he’s managed to make headlines again and, this time, it’s to confirm some doubts about his relationship. He was speaking with The Hollywood Reporter and was asked about Taylor and the fact some people are convinced that they are part of some elaborate publicity stunt. In response he said:

“Well, um. How best to put this? That notion is — look, the truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we’re very happy. Thanks for asking. That’s the truth. It’s not a publicity stunt.”

So that’s that then, no publicity stunt.

Also featured in the interview was his Emmy nomination, to which he said:

“I didn’t have any expectations, and suddenly my phone started blowing up a couple hours ago. This is the most wonderful surprise, and honestly the most thrilling thing about it is that it feels like an extraordinary and heartwarming affirmation for the whole team who made The Night Manager. Making The Night Manager was the most fulfilling team effort, and I’m so proud of everybody.”
