We finally have a trailer for the fourth Bridget Jones movie

We’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy trailer ever since Renée Zellweger and Leo Woodall were spotted filming in London.

Bridget Jones is one of the most iconic characters in pop culture, a character that shaped many of our teenage years whether that was through Helen Fielding’s books or the beloved movies.

She’s one of those characters that is a huge comfort to many women so we’re thrilled to know she’ll be returning to our cinema screens in February.

Universal dropped the trailer for Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy and everyone is saying the same thing about it.

Fan favourites Renée Zellweger, Emma Thompson, Jim Broadbent, and Hugh Grant are all returning for the fourth movie.

However, Colin Firth won’t be starring in the film as the trailer confirms his character Mark Darcy’s death.

Fans were heartbroken by the news that the charming Mark Darcy won’t be returning for the fourth movie

One said, “I don’t want to be in a universe where my beloved Mark Darcy doesnt exist.”

“what do you mean i have to watch bridget jones mourn mark darcy, nobody asked for this, give me colin firth back,” another said.

“who even needs a new bridget jones movie if there’s no mark darcy in it?” another asked.

As disappointed as fans may be, one huge rising star is joining the movie as Bridget’s love interest.

One Day actor Leo Woodall is set to star as Bridget’s younger love interest Roxster in the fourth installment.

Speaking about the film, director Michael Morris said he wanted to do something different with Bridget in this movie.

Digital Spy reports, “[It’s] very much a comedy, very much celebrating life in all the joyfulness that Bridget brings, but life, you can’t ignore the hard bits, you just can’t. It’s going to happen to everybody, so how does Bridget deal with it?.”

“How do you attack moving on essentially with the kind of Bridget verve and joyfulness? And I think in that way this is a rom-com, but a real-life rom-com is what I wanted to make,” he added.

Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy will be released in February 2025.
