It’s official: Katy Perry will be a judge on the American Idol reboot

ABC studios have announced the singer as the first official judge for the American Idol reboot.

It's a big coup for ABC to land a megastar as their first official judge. The now defunct Fox version of American Idol admitted that judge's paychecks in their last few seasons were fiscally unsustainable, and a reason why the show began to struggle. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter recently, ABC Reality Chief Robert Mills said;

 "What you can't do is come back as bargain-basement Idol, we're going to make sure the talent is right, and we'll do what we have to do to  make it bigger and better than ever."

Katy Perry shared the news with her Twitter followers last night, all 98.1 million of them...
