Love Island contestant underwent secret surgery after being bullied

Love Island's Alex Beattie has revealed he underwent a hair transplant after he was bullied when he was younger.

The 22-year-old said that he made the decision to have the procedure after he was ridiculed over his hair line and the size of his forehead. While he says he hasn't had any hair loss, the reality TV star says the insecurities over the "higher hairline" led to the decision. He explained to The Sun:

"In school I used to get picked on for having a big forehead and being skinny. "Obviously I could change the body thing by going to the gym and that was a consistent thing over four/five year and I even ended up winning trophies for the body building. "So my hairline was the one thing that was left to sort."

"So the reason I’ve been off the radar a little bit the past few days is I’ve undergone some surgery. "Something I’ve been extremely insecure about for years.. my hairline. "Although I’m not loosing any hair I’ve always had a issue about the height of my hairline so after seeing @jakequickenden14 reaching out and telling the world his story I got in contact with him for more info. "He reassured me and then put me in contact with @kslhairltd who then took me in for a consultation about it and showed me what they could do for me. "After having the procedure a couple of days ago I’m now resting with a swollen head (which goes down in a couple of days) and a hairline I’m so so happy with! "So glad I had this done even though many of you will say I didn’t need it I honestly hated it. "So many people getting all kinds of surgeries these days from teeth, nose jobs, lips, boobs, lypo and many more I’m not ashamed to say I’ve had some work done     "I know of many men close to me that share the same issue and wanted more info immediately once I told them what I was getting done.
