Riverdale returns on October 11.

Riverdale returns to the small screen next week and we couldn’t be more excited.

Fans have been looking into every casting detail and promo screen grab ahead of Riverdale’s hotly anticipated season two.

The second season will be bringing in more Southside Serpents – and there’s one in particular who has been getting plenty of attention.

Vanessa Morgan, Drew Ray Tanner and Jordan Connor will be joining the hit CW drama as new Southsiders who Jughead befriends when he transfers to Southside High School.

Vanessa, who was introduced as Toni Topaz earlier this summer, shared a photo of the three new Southsiders on Instagram.

She captioned the photo:

“South SiDeee. The Serpents are coming.”

The actress sparked speculation she could potentially be causing a riff between fan favourite couple Betty and Jughead.

She explained to Glamour:

“[Toni] is a Southside Serpent, a gang member, and Jughead’s first friend.

“So I might stir up the pot a bit with the Bughead relationship. There might be a little love triangle.

“I’ve already had some death threats.

“But the thing is, it’s half death threats because they don’t want that [actually] happening, and there’s half that’s just all love.

“Who knows if [my character coming between Bughead] is even going to happen. People are just jumping to conclusions.”

There’s no word yet on when Riverdale’s second season will be reaching Ireland.

But Netflix did put up episodes from the first season within hours of it airing in the US, so we’ve got our fingers crossed they will be doing the same this time.

Riverdale’s season 2 premieres Wednesday Oct 11 in the US.
