OMG OMG OMG.
It’s finally here.
The first official picture from the final season of Game of Thrones has been released.
And listen, don’t get too excited.
It doesn’t give a whole lot away (naturally), but it’s something.
The picture shows Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington looking pretty cosy, which anyone who has been keeping up with the plot of the show will know… is kind of gross.
And yet, we are so here for it!
Along with the cover, Entertainment Weekly also had chats with some of the folks involved, with Kit telling the outlet that the final scenes were “relentless, scenes that would have been a one-day shoot five years ago are now a five-day shoot. They want to get it right, they want to shoot everything every single way so they have options”.

The lovely Emilia added that “Every choice, every conversation, every attitude, has this air of ‘this is it.’ Everything feels more intense.”
Additionally, co-executive producer Bryan Cogman said “It’s about all of these disparate characters coming together to face a common enemy, dealing with their own past, and defining the person they want to be in the face of certain death.
“It’s an incredibly emotional haunting bittersweet final season and I think it honours very much what [author George R.R. Martin] set out to do — which is flipping this kind of story on its head.”
Still no set air date for the final season, but we’d put some good money on it showing up around April 2019.
Same time the royal baby is due.
Coincidence?
