Not a great start.

RTE’s Dancing with the Stars has not yet even begun and already one contestant has been forced to bow out of the show due to an injury.

Former Miss Ireland and blogger Aoife Walsh has announced that she has quit the show because of a fractured toe.

Walsh stubbed her toe while getting out of bed and subsequently fractured it, leading to her missing a crucial two weeks of rehearsals.

She announced today that she was quitting.

The model said that she was “devastated” to have to leave the competition before it began, but that she will be “watching and cheering on” the other celebrities competing.

“I’m looking forward to getting better and back on both feet again very soon.

“For now, the dream has ended but I live my life believing that the glass is always half full and when one door closes, another always opens.”

Dancing with the Stars airs on RTE1 on Sunday, January 7, 2018.

Walsh’s replacement is expected to be announced in the next few days.
