Joan Rivers’ personal doctor took a selfie with the comedian while she was under anaesthesia in the operating room, according to reports from CNN.
The doctor, who performed a biopsy on the 81- year old, is believed to have taken the selfie shortly before Rivers underwent a procedure on her vocal chords that led to her suffering a cardiac arrest.
Investigators were informed of the incident by a member of staff at the clinic, and claim it was a personal physician who pulled out his camera to take a picture of himself alongside Rivers before she went into sudden cardiac arrest.
Comedian Joan Rivers died aged 81 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, after falling into cardiac arrest following routine surgery on her vocal chords.
