Simon Cowell has revealed that becoming a father has given him his “mojo back”.
The X Factor boss had his son Eric with girlfriend Lauren Silverman in February but the union got off to a bad start when it emerged that Cowell had begun seeing the 36-year-old while she was still married to his friend, Andrew Silverman.
In an interview with The Mirror, Cowell said he was “not proud” of his actions during the affair but was adjusting well to family life.
“It is not something I am proud of or wanted to happen in terms of hurting anyone. It just happened. You have to deal with it and man up to it. You have to accept the responsibility and the criticism. All I can say is, my advice to you is if it happens to you, you just have to deal with it a day at a time and own up to your responsibilities,” he said.
“But then of course you have a baby and you look at the baby and you kinda go, ‘This is what happened from it.’ In this situation, you are not going to come out of this well because of the circumstances.”
The 53-year-old said that he had been living a “weird existence” prior to his relationship with Lauren and recent developments “make life interesting”.
“The house is full of people. There is something about the noise of people around you that triggers something back to when you were a kid in my house. That is probably what I am going through at the moment and why I am embracing it so easily.
“Everyone said it must be turning your life upside-down but I love it. I love a bit of chaos. Now the house has become a home rather than a house. I think in a weird way I probably needed that.”
