Britney Spears revealed she was too young to become a mum

In the emotional memoir, Britney opens up about various aspects of her life, including her past relationships.

The mum-of-two has not shied away from discussing everything from her conservatorship, to her relationship with Justin Timberlake, and her choice to have an abortion.

In a snippet of the novel obtained by People, Britney revealed she chose to have an abortion because she felt she was too young to be a parent.

She also said Justin Timberlake wasn't ready to be a father.

The 'Toxic' singer writes: "It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated.

"But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young."

"If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father."

Spears said it was one of the most "agonizing" experiences of her life.

Spears became a mum following her split from Timberlake. She shares two sons- Sean Preston and Jayden James- with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
