Roz Purcell talks to Her.ie about tying the knot at home
Roz Purcell may be newly engaged, but the writer isn’t planning on rushing down the aisle anytime soon.
She is all about appreciating what’s going on in her life right now, rather than jumping ten steps ahead.
Her ability to live in the moment is the main reason why she hasn’t delved into wedding planning just yet.
In an exclusive interview with Her.ie, Roz opened up about her hopes for her big day.
“We haven’t actually planned anything because we’re both really busy.
“I think we’re both waiting for the other one to plan it.”
Roz and her fiancé Zach don’t have concrete plans made but they’re certainly getting married in Ireland.
Roz on getting married in Ireland
The influencer explained why she didn’t want to get married abroad.
“I’m really conscious of not putting people out. I don’t really want people to have to travel far.
Roz added: “I also just love Ireland and can already imagine my wedding photos with an Irish backdrop.
“I feel like there’s so much less stress involved because you’re not flying somewhere or organising something far away,” she shared.
Roz knows Ireland like the back of her hand so there’s no doubt she will find the perfect venue here.
“I know Ireland so well and the only thing I want to do is make sure that, whatever kind of wedding we have, the next day I can give people a full itinerary of things to do wherever we are so everyone can have one big holiday.
“I feel like in Ireland you expect rain so if you do get sunshine then it’s the best day ever. It’ll be the best day ever anyway but if it’s sunny then it’s just the cherry on top,” Roz added.
Roz reveals her hopes for her big day
Roz said there are so many places in Ireland that matter to her but they’ll more than likely get married somewhere in Munster.
She shared: “I have a big family and I just wouldn’t want to ask them to travel so far. I want the dogs there so it’ll definitely be in Ireland, we just don’t know exactly where.”
Roz hopes her day is an intimate celebration with the people she loves, but is enjoying her engagement for now.
“I’m really enjoying being engaged,” she said.
“I’m not going to rush getting married because I feel like as women we’re told to concentrate on certain things like having kids and getting married, but I want to enjoy the now.”
