Well, this sounds awful.
Security researchers at Google have discovered a serious flaw in Intel computer chips.
The chips can be found in almost every computer and laptop, and could see hackers gather passwords and other sensitive information from a system’s memory.
According to The Register, millions of Irish computers and work machines could be affected, and you won’t actually know if any of your data has been taken.
Experts also believe that the chip could cause your computer to slow down by 30 percent, as well as diminish the battery life.
Intel said in a statement: “[We have] begun providing software and firmware updates to mitigate these exploits.”
It is believed that Microsoft and Apple are also looking at ways to reduce the risk of hacking.
