Children’s shirt from Zara recalled due to choking fears

Nearly 600 products were sold in Zara stores across the Republic of Ireland.

Zara has issued a recall on an item of children’s clothing due to choking risks. The CCPC is urging shoppers to return the Zara Kids Blue Baby Shirt with Sleeves immediately.

The buttons on the garment may become loose and cause a child to choke if swallowed.

591 affected products were sold in stores across Ireland.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission advised parents to keep the garment away from children.

They also said to discontinue use immediately.

The CCPC stated:

“The risk associated with the product is that of choking due to insufficient attachment of some of the buttons on the garment, a button may become loose which may be swallowed by a child which could cause them to choke.”

The batch number is unknown, but the type/number of the model is 6048/551/400/I2022.

Items with the following bar codes should be returned to stores immediately- 0604855140009, 0604855140012, 0604855140018, 0604855140024, 0604855140036, 0604855140048, and 0604855140060.

Customers can contact the Zara Customer Service team on 01 4161024. Customers will be given a refund.

They’re also being asked to return the garment to Zara stores.
