Schoolgirl Arrested After Killing And ‘Beheading’ Classmate In Japan

The parents of the victim raised the alarm when she failed to return home having gone to meet friends on Saturday afternoon.

A 15-year-old schoolgirl is being held in police custody after she told police that she killed and dismembered a classmate.

The teenager reportedly admitted to hitting her victim, also 15, over the head with a metal object before strangling her.

According to Japan’s Kyodo news agency, she admitted to cutting off the victim’s head and left hand. She said she acted alone.

The suspect, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was arrested after the body of Aiwa Matsuo was discovered at her apartment in Sasebo. The tools used in the murder were found nearby.
