ASOS has introduced some major changes to its return policy this week and shoppers are now threatening to boycott the popular brand.
The fashion brand will now charge customers with a frequently high return rate.
From today, they will be charged to return items unless they spend a certain amount.
ASOS confirmed the disappointing news in a statement but stressed that only a small number of customers will be affected.
"We want to give you a heads-up about some updates we’re making to our Fair Use Policy that will affect your future orders with ASOS.
Thanks a lot @ASOS_UK. The problem for large returns is the fact half of your stock is ill fitting and poor quality. You’re another brand now alienating your loyal customers. I’ll take my custom somewhere else🤷🏻♀️ pic.twitter.com/y2XoGXNnWt

"As part of a small group of customers with a frequently high returns rate, you’ll now only get Free Returns when you keep £40 or more from your order.
"If you keep less than £40 from your order, we’ll deduct £3.95 from your refund. This change will only apply to orders placed from 8 October 2024, and you’ll be reminded on-site."
Fans of the online shopping site have slated the move with many saying it's discrimination.
One said: "As a curvy girl, I have to order several sizes and often make returns as your sizing is not consistent, now I'm going to be charged for it? Way to make me feel bad about my body."
"Well ASOS if you actually made clothes that fit so I wouldn’t need to buy multiple sizes we wouldn’t have that problem, consider me no longer a customer. Whilst you’re at it, improve your clothing quality before you act all high and mighty,” another wrote.
A third added: "Did you [ASOS] consider that returner fee isolates customers who don't fit ideal body standards?"
Will you continue to shop on ASOS after this change?
