The consortium responsible for operating the fleet of speed camera bans across the country rake in almost €50,000 a week.
According to The Irish Times, the Go Safe consortium recorded operating profits of €3.12 million in the 15 months to the end of March 31st, 2012. This works out at an average €48,001 per week.
Led by Kerry businessman Xavier McAuliffe, Go Safe won the €80 million Garda contract in 2009, with their work on it beginning in November of 2010. Their contract for the service is a five-year one.

The vans operate on stretches of Irish road with a history of collisions
The consortium provides 6,000 hours of service every month on roads with a history of collisions. On average, the vans detect one speeding motorist per hour, or 72,000 every year.
