It’s a historical day.
We get it. We too are glued to the TV.
It all started off so well. In the first few moments, Robbie Brady got one up on France and scored. For the entire first half we maintained the lead but in the second half, France scored twice in a three-minute window.
Despite the current score, fans Nationwide are seated on the edge of their chairs. Everything else has been forgotten about – the house isn’t getting cleaned and the dinner has not been put on.
It seems there’s one particularly large, very important task that multiple men have avoided in favour of the big game.
Midwife Emily took to Facebook to share a snap of the current carpark at Limerick Maternity Hospital.
She writes:
Every man with a pregnant full term wife/girlfriend is now secretly praying that the baby doesn’t come before 8pm. Car park in the maternity has never been so empty,”
Emily uploaded a snap of the carpark which shows one singular lonely car in the vicinity.
Zilch.
Still, with Ireland having fought so well, one can only wonder how many wee Robbie’s and Brady’s will be birthed today.
