We have all had our heart broken at least once in our lives and for those who experienced the hurt of a break-up due to cheating, you will know that there is no right time to discover that the person you love is playing away.
However, when Bonnie Clarkson from west Yorkshire found out that her husband-to-be Russell Boldy was involved with another woman, he lay fighting for his life in a coma.
The 27-year-old made the discovery after her fiancé had become critically ill.
When the 32-year-old slipped into a coma, Clarkson, who was pregnant at the time, decided she would contact family, friends and work colleagues of the situation.
“I burst into tears when I saw him lying there, wired up to the machines keeping him alive. He was deathly white. It felt like I was like looking at a dead body”, she explained.
“I thought I was doing the right thing by using his phone to contact his friends and to tell his boss what was going on. I never imagined that what I’d find would rip our relationship apart”.
Clarkson came across not only text messages, but also Facebook mails to another woman.
The bus driver, who later made a full recovery, had even contacted the mystery woman the night he proposed to the Mum-of-one.
“It makes me sick to think he was seeing someone else, especially when I found Facebook messages sent just hours after he’d asked me to be his wife”, she continued.
Boldy later admitted to the affair and Clarkson now raises their 22-month-old sol alone.
