Planning a Trip? Researchers Name the 10 Happiest Countries in the World…

The happiest place in the world... is not Disneyworld. According to this survey it's considerably closer to Ireland, and we're not too far behind.

Is Ireland really one of the happiest countries in the world?

Just about, according to this six-year study. Although our daily news would have you believe we’re swirling further into a pit of despair, thousands are heading for the departure gates every day and we’re all stoney-broke… somehow we still made it in to this top ten. Good for us! 

Researchers at the Legatum Institute, a London-based nonpartisan think tank, six years ago set out to rank the happiest countries in the world. 

The result is the Legatum Prosperity Index. Based on a study of 142 countries, which represents 96 per cent of global population the comprehensive study analyzed and ranked nations on categories including education, government and economics. 

Have a look flick through the top ten above, if you’re one of the many still planning on a move consider this an early heads up on where the folks you’ll meet are most likely to be shiny happy people… and making the top ten means we’re sitting quite pretty ourselves too.
