Gavin James joined Glen Hansard and Damien Rice for a very special Christmas Eve busk

Her

Glen Hansard led a busking session in the middle of Grafton Street on Christmas Eve.

Hundreds joined the singer, who has been at the forefront of helping the homeless occupy Apollo House throughout the cold December, to have a sing-song in the middle of one of Ireland’s busiest high streets.

Hansard was also joined by his fellow singer-songwriters Gavin James and Damien Rice.

By the looks of things, it was brilliant craic. Unconfirmed tweet suggest that the session came to an end when the police dispersed the crowd.

Hansard confirmed through his Twitter that all proceeds of the impromptu gig went to the Peter McVerry Trust and the Dublin Simon Community homeless shelters.

Video from the scene suggest that it was the place to be this evening:

Bressie also shared a video of his own busking event from Mullingar, where the guards got in on the action.
