Five Things You Know You Want….But Won’t Buy For Yourself This Christmas

Her

There’s always someone who’s not totally satisfied with their haul on Christmas morning. It’ll be your little brother one year, your Mammy the next, and your older sister another year. Irish Dads are always happy no matter what kind of present they get, and that’s just fact. We know that we can be pretty tricky to buy for at times, but when you think about it, sometimes it’s the little things that we’re happiest to see in our stockings.

Here are five things that we know we’d secretly be happy getting from our family this Christmas, but probably wouldn’t consider buying for ourselves…

Cushions and throws

We always seem to gravitate towards luxurious cushions and blankets when we’re in a department store; they’re just so damn soft and cuddly. But a quick glance at the price tag generally puts us off their prettiness in a flash. We’ve got rent to pay, people. But if we were presented with a couple of cute ones on Christmas morning, we know we would be absolutely happy out and get them straight on our bed. Sad, we know, but true! We particularly like this festive little beauty below available at Heatons!

New clutch

Because let’s face it, a girl can never have too bags in her wardrobe. They can transform an outfit and we have often spent afternoons drooling over them during a day out at the shops. This pretty laser cut envelop bag with gold chain would make a great addition to our collection.

Snuggly slippers

There’s nothing cosier than snuggling your feet into a furry pair of slippers. We love the pearl fur boots below from Heatons. They’re perfect for cold winter nights – we definitely wouldn’t turn up our noses at these on Christmas morning!

Hot water bottle

With the temperatures dropping, we don’t think there’s an Irish female left in the country who isn’t going to bed with one of these toasty little fellas. The chances are we’d never splash out on an expensive one for ourselves (we’ve had ours for years at this stage), even though we sleep with it every night. There’s something not quite right there. The bottom line is that we would love to see a brand spanking new bottle under the Christmas tree – the more fluffy and gaudy, the better. We’re pretty smitten with this one which can be purchased here.

Kitchen essentials

Despite what people might say, we will always welcome a new gadget or gizmo for our kitchen. We can’t get enough of them. Baking utensils or pretty place sets that will add a touch of sparkle to our kitchens will always go down well. This Christmassy set has caught our eye…
