Electric Ireland’s #PoweringKindness week is well underway.

For the past three years, the company has been inviting the public to do something kind for the people in their life and then transforming the acts of kindness into major donations for three leading Irish charities.

This year the campaign will be donating a whopping €130,000 to three extremely worthy causes; The Marie Keating FoundationThe Irish Heart Foundation, and Childline.

Her.ie are joining forces with the Marie Keating Foundation team and will go head-to-head with our brother and sister sites JOE.ie and HerFamily.ie. It goes without saying that we’re in it to win!

Here are just a few of the famous faces doing good deeds for their chosen charities…

BOD is gifting the students of UCD with some mice. Gent!

Amy is helping out the ISPCC by providing husband Brian with top notch stilton in order for him to carry out his kind act efficiently.

Arsenal fan Piers Morgan promises only to think happy thoughts and say nice things in support of the Marie Keating Foundation.

Ronan Keating is spreading joy by giving out free chocolate bars… Eh, we’ll take on of those!

Laurence Kinlan, better known as Elmo from Love/Hate, helped out an elderly lady….

To be a part of this year’s campaign, simply tell us about your act of kindness on social media using the #PoweringKindness and tag either @MarieKeating, @IrishHeart_ie or @ISPCCChildline. The organisation with the most kindness done in their name will receive the largest portion of the €130,000 prize fund.

We sent our own Liz McHugh along to The Marie Keating Foundation HQ to check out all of the great work the cancer charity is doing thousands of families all over Ireland.

Tell us about your kindness on social media by using #poweringkindness and tagging @MarieKeating or by visiting poweringkindness.ie
