Wildlife Photographer of The Year is a competition than has been running for 50 consecutive years.

The 50th anniversary of the annual event took place recently and the overall winner’s image was so spectacular we had to share it with you.

The Natural History Museum announced the results and the Overall Winner was awarded to American photographer, Michael Nichols.

Michael, who is known to friends as Nick, captured the incredible winning image at the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.

The photograph titled ‘The Last Great Picture’ shows five females of the Vumbi pride resting with their cubs on a massive rock.
