10 Things… Her.ie Loved This Week

Things that made Team Her very happy this week.

Rebecca McKnight

HELLO weekend! We’re taking a look back the things that have made Her.ie happy over the past few days. Our highlights this week include…

Hello Summer!

Tis the season for our fashion heads to see what’s coming up for summer and beyond. This week, Michelle paid a visit to the stunning Penthouse of the Morgan Hotel, to meet the good folks from Littlewoods Ireland. To say we’re coveting a few items from their summer collection would be a gross understatement. To say Michelle walked away with a new summery dress and bikini, then went home inspired to book flights… that would be a little more accurate. Divine.

Get the Glow

When it comes to contouring, Cathy is completely lost. La Teint Saharienne from Yves Saint Laurent is her new favourite thing because it fakes that gorgeous sun-kissed glow with one sweep of a brush. This blur powder also masks pores, ensuring a refined effect. It launches at the end of May for €31 and it’s a summer make-up must-have, according to our girl.

Loving Lauryn

Cards on the table – we’ll take pretty much any excuse to shop. Especially when it comes to bling and especially from an Irish company. This week, we’re entirely enamoured with LaurynRose.com, a newly launched Irish fashion jewellery e-boutique offering stunning pieces and a special twist. Inspired by a beautiful little girl of the same name, LaurynRose.com donates 10 per cent of the profit of every sale directly to Laura Lynn Children’s Hospice, to help vulnerable Irish children in need. If that isn’t the perfect excuse to shop, we don’t know what is.

West is Best

Despite hailstones and bitter wind, Mary had an absolute ball in Westport this weekend. She headed off last Friday evening to Hotel Westport and spent the weekend zorbing, ziplining and climbing high ropes, before she finished the day off with a mouth-watering meal where she ate so much, she had to be rolled down the street to the pub. That’s a sign of a good time.

Up The Duff

This week Cassie loved the copious amounts of free food. Ben & Jerrys, Cadburys and Restore. She says: “I’ve been exceptionally well-fed and I don’t even feel a shred of guilt.” She also LOVED The Duff, saying it’s a brilliant feel-good film that reminded her that high school dramas always have a special place in her heart.

I Scream, You Scream

Yes it’s another mention of food – stop judging us. Ben & Jerry are two of our best friends. This week, they dropped over the new Cookie Cores creations. General consensus is that the peanut butter one is the food of the Gods. That said, we’d happily devour any of them, any time.

Orange Is The New Black Is Rebecca’s New Breaking Bad

Rebecca, who binge-watched the likes of Breaking Bad and House of Cards, finally started watching Orange Is The New Black (don’t worry, no spoilers) this week and she’s totally addicted. She was also really happy to hear that Netflix have confirmed that there will be a fourth season.

Dressed to Impress

There’s nothing quite like a bit of retail therapy… especially when it involves a trip to Brown Thomas. Marie fell in love with a stunning dress from Karen Millen over the weekend and it has since held pride of place in her wardrobe. Now, just to find an occasion to wear it…

T-OATally Delicious

Our love for chocolate around these parts is well-documented. So it’s a happy, happy day when Cadbury drop in to say hello and bring some treats (don’t hate us). This time around, they were introducing us to their new Oat Crunch. Naturally, this is the new official mid-morning Her.ie snack.

Festival Fever

This week Liz got extremely excited when she started putting all the final touches to her trip to Glastonbury this June. From booking her flights, locating a backpack and working her way through the festival wardrobe she’s going to be lugging over to Worthy Farm, she’s beyond excited.

With plans to dance all night long to Lionel, and shake off the hangover to Florence, she’s officially on countdown mode to the gig of the year!
