The best time
You’re most likely to get pregnant if you have sex within a day or so of ovulation, which is usually about 14 days after the first day of your last period if you have an average 28-day cycle.
While there is not a lot of evidence to support that certain sex positions aid conception more than others, experts have carried out a number of studies in the area.
Here are just some of the more popular positions that many believe help to maximize your chances of getting pregnant.
Either way, keep sex fun during this time and enjoy some variety in your sex life.
Missionary
The old reliable, the missionary position sees the woman lying on her back with the man on top. Due to the fact that the woman’s pelvis is not titled downwards, it helps the sperm to move closer to help with conception.
Doggy Style
The doggy style position is reportedly great for baby making as it increases penetration and opens up the cervix.
Spooning
Another favourite for people who are trying for a baby, the man is behind the woman as they lie down ensuring that the sperm can reach the cervix as the woman’s pelvis is tilted correctly.
Butterfly
Here, the woman lies down on her back on a table, where the man steps in between her feet and lifts her hips with his hands.
As always, if you have any questions about conceiving or would like some advice on the subject, make sure to book an appointment with your GP. What’s the Story with Rosacea? Expert shares what you really need to know
